I've tried liveCD on Dell boxes & laptops [GX1, GX110, GX150, GX240, C400, C600 & C610]. All of them booted up w/o problem, but all X-Win failed. I have tried this command, XFree86 -configure, and it worked, but no resolution to get it up and running. :(
Alright. I've tried it on two more laptops, IBM TP T23 & Compaq EVO. Booted up w/o problem. X-Win failed. XFree86 -configure command works on EVO, but failed with GLX error messages w/ a new config file. *sigh* When will I see UT-Demo on Gentoo instead of WinXP??
Last night, I've tried it on my parents' desktop, HP Pavilion. Same results. :(
Well, type "opengl-update xfree" before trying to run Xfree86 without the NVIDIA drivers. Afaik, the machines you're trying to run the CD on do not have NVIDIA cards. Is this correct? our ut2003-demo CD requires an NVIDIA chip. If you do have machine(s) with problems *and* an NVIDIA chip, then let's focus on getting those working and pick up there.
You're correct. None of those machines have an NVIDIA chip. However, "opengl-update xfree" does work. Unforunately, UT doesn't run due to an error [glx related]. I guess I won't be able to show it off to my friends who used Windows on their PCs. You may close this report.
