Please provide what version of gaim you are using, as well as output from "emerge info" and a output from "gaim -d" when the crash occurs.

FYI this bug is upstream, but I want to get that information from you first.

14:12 < nosnilmot> it's more likely to be associated with buddy icon and/or
custom emoticons that his MSN 7 users are setting/sending
(or, in the case of buddy icons, retrieving from him)
14:12 < nosnilmot> or possibly some other junk that MSN introduced in version 7

please tell me exactly what you want me to do. :)
i'm not a expert...i made this debug ifo with the info in the GAIM page :)

I'm using 1.2.1

what do i with "emerge info"? Please tell me the all command

"Gaim -d" where i make that command?

sorry i'm new in linux :( i'm just trying to help hunting some bugs :)
Comment 5 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-27 07:30:08 UTC
just type 'emerge info' in your shell prompt and paste the output here.

'gaim -d' is just running gaim with the -d flag to produce extra debugging output. Run gaim from the console with 'gaim -d' and then when it crashes, paste the last lines before the segfault so we can know what was happening.

gaim -d in the command line:

Hi, user. We need to talk.
I think something's gone wrong here. It's probably my fault.
No, really, it's not you... it's me... no no no, I think we get along well
it's just that.... well, I want to see other people. I... what?!? NO! I haven 't
been cheating on you!! How many times do you want me to tell you?! And for the
last time, it's just a rash!

Comment 7 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-24 13:25:37 UTC
Do you still see this crash in gaim-1.5.0?
Comment 8 Kathryn Kulick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-25 13:35:25 UTC
Reopen if crashes are reproducable in 1.5.0.
