Description Ákos Maróy 2005-04-22 05:13:55 UTC
when emerging mozilla-firefox, I can't make it compile the composer as well, no matter what USE flags I set. (and the default is to disable it).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge mozilla-firefox
2. see that no composer is compiled into it
3.

Actual Results:
the emerge process prints this summary of the configuration, in the beginning:

Expected Results:
somehow (preferably through a USE flag) one shold be able to make firefox
compile the composer as well...
Comment 1 Roland Bär 2005-04-22 08:08:28 UTC
Mozilla/Firefox shares codebase, looks like also the configure/build framework,
but it doesn't come with any editor/composer.
You will never have a composer with firefox, if yxou want that, then
you have to emrerge the blown mozilla itself. Also no USE flag in ebuild to enable this.
Comment 2 Ákos Maróy 2005-04-22 08:12:46 UTC
hm, but I heard that they will discontinue the mozilla suite in general. so, the mozilla composer will die then totally?
Comment 3 Nikolas 'Atrus' Coukouma 2005-05-18 04:49:07 UTC
The Mozilla Suite will live on. The new name is SeaMonkey for version 2.

Also, you might want to check out Nvu. It's based on XUL/Gecko (same stuff as
Mozilla) and is a full app dedicated to site editing and management. It's like
composer, but greatly improved. It's in portage. Website: http://nvu.com/

FF does not have any composer.
