Description Jelle Kalf 2005-04-21 23:43:23 UTC
Hi,

Could one of you devs please add in a few extra USE flags to the general gnome ebuilds. mainly because I'm irritated by all the packages it's trying to install I don't want, or do not depend on for having my gnome environment.

The reason I'm requesting the useflags is because I don't want to edit the ebuild everytime I sync my portage tree.

packages that concern me are:
- epiphany (I hate epiphany and Mozilla. I use firefox by choice)
- Evolution, data-server, webcal. (I'm using another mail package)

with a simple USE flag these packages could be kept from installing during an emerge.

example:
USE="noevolution noepiphany" emerge gnome

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Expected Results:
USE="noevolution noepiphany" emerge gnome

Why don't you emerge gnome-light instead?

See Leung's comment above. Stop being so irritated, it stops you from being rational.
