Since this was marked Resolved, I assumed that meant it was fixed. In fact I
tried installing it again - this time 1.0.5 and got the exact same error. 

If you marked this Resovled, please tell me what I need to do to fix the
installation.

USE=debug?

USE=debug is what causes the problem. When I did USE=-debug emerge gambas it
worked! Thanks. I never even thought of that as a solution!
