When I thype "/opt/firefox/firefox-bin" I'll get the message wich I attached above. When you using emul-linux-x86-gtklibs-1.2-r1 then it wil work perfectly without any problems. So I think there are some libary's missing in the brandnew package. I think that there are also problems with other GTK 32bit program's but I didn't test it. I know that the problem exist with Firefox and Thunderbird the binary versions. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: Expected Results: It should start without any problems I think. Unable to reproduce this.. did you run etc-update after you emerge'd emul-linux-x86-gtklibs?
Yes I did, and also a "ldconfig" but it didn't solve my problems. Only emerging the old gtklibs-1.2-r1 solved my problems.
I, too, am unable to reproduce this. firefox-bin works fine with emul-linux-x86-gtklibs-2.1. I noticed when I did etc-update that several files were updated, most notably /etc/pango/i686-pc-linux-gnu/pango.modules. Are you *sure* you ran etc-update (not ldconfig) after the upgrade, and accepted the changes?
please post the output of: # ldd /opt/firefox/firefox-bin | grep pango
Still waiting for a response, is this still a problem?
Still no response from user... closing as NEEDINFO. Reopen if you have something more to add.
Sorry for the late respons. I wasn't at home :) Here is the output of: ldd /opt/firefox/firefox-bin | grep pango ---- R21 ~ # ldd /opt/firefox/firefox-bin | grep pango libpangoxft-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib32/libpangoxft-1.0.so.0 (0x55a8c000) libpangox-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib32/libpangox-1.0.so.0 (0x55a92000) libpango-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib32/libpango-1.0.so.0 (0x55a9d000) libpangoft2-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib32/libpangoft2-1.0.so.0 (0x560aa000) ----- This is with the emul-linux-x86-gtklibs-2.1. And if I installed the old emul-linux-x86-gtklibs-1.2-r1 I've got this output: ----- R21 ~ # ldd /opt/firefox/firefox-bin | grep pango libpangoxft-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib32/libpangoxft-1.0.so.0 (0x55a8c000) libpangox-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib32/libpangox-1.0.so.0 (0x55a92000) libpango-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib32/libpango-1.0.so.0 (0x55a9d000) libpangoft2-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib32/libpangoft2-1.0.so.0 (0x560aa000) -----
the emul-* packages don't install anthing in /usr/lib32, all the libs go in /emul/linux/x86/usr/lib. Deleting your stale pango libs from /usr/lib32 should solve your problem.
