Similar problem here. On a side note, maybe htdig should be a dependency for khelpcenter.
Same problem here. Trying to create the application doc index which wasn't created yet causes an htdig error: INDEXDIR: /home/therman/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter/index FINDCMD: find /usr/kde/3.4/share/doc/HTML/en/ -name index.docbook Creating index for 'kde_application_manuals' htdig failed Not knowing any better, tried to emerge htdig, which got me the same error as reported by the bug reporter. After reading more, I got the impression that KDE has its own htdig facility. If so, then wouldn't that be the culprit here in some way?
I've just downloaded htdig 3.2.0b6 and compiled it from sources (./configure, make, sudo make install), then I've made symlinks to acces htdig, htmerge and htsearch. kde-helpcenter and kdevelop documentation index works fine for me. Maybe somebady should create ebuild with this version... (my system is ~amd64)
This bug was reported upstream: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102912 Not much response except "possibly you need newer htdig version".
looks like one of these bugs that will need someone to spend some time to figure out. :)
actually, using the new unstable htdig ebuild, everyhing works fine :)
