MPlayer 1.0-pre7 has been released, with several security fixes [relevant bug for previous versions <a href="http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89277">here</a>], several nonsecurity bugfixes, better codec support (noteworthy among them Apple's Lossless format), and numerous other things. Please update ebuilds as required, as the mplayer-1.0pre6 ebuilds fail to build 1.0pre7 successfully for me.

In portage now ;-) Also mplayer-1.0_pre6-r4 is stable (includes the security fixes).

this is not a duplicate ... it was an enhancement request. dont listen to Jakub
