Description Michael Perlov 2023-02-04 09:52:47 UTC
Due to removal +slang USE flag, default behavior has changed, at least Shift+Arrow selection in mcedit is not working anymore.

Reproducible: Always

Seems like it is known problem with ncurses: https://midnight-commander.org/ticket/1769

I take it from your description + from the age of the upstream report you have quoted that nothing has actually stopped working in this version, i.e. had you manually set USE=slang everything would still be fine. The change of default behaviour was not intentional so thank you for having brought it to my attention, that said IMHO something that can be "fixed" by a simple USE-flag change doesn't really count as a bug...

Opting for "won't fix" in the end in the sense that if it is a problem upstream has not addressed for over a decade, then neither will we.
