Ciao

_EVERY_ time that i run "emerge rsync" i obtain at the end this error:

rsync error: partial transfer (code 23) at main.c(925)

Why ?
I have the latest portage and latest rsync.
I have tryed to install the portage-rescue, and with this installaed, the error 
gone, after i have run "emerge portage" again , the error is back , so i think 
it is a portage problem....

This is an rsync issue. There can be a couple reasons for it,
but most likely is unstable connections of some sort.

This is not a portage issue.
Try and set an rsync mirror near to you, and try again a few times.
Hopefully you will find a mirror that is stable for you.

and why after i have installed the portage-rescue this error is gone ?!?!
