8. apache

Description
The Apache web server and supporting packages
Herd maintainers' email address
apache-devs@gentoo.org

Trying to assign something:

Assignee: apache-devs@gentoo.org did not match anything
Assignee: apache@gentoo.org did not match anything

Do we have an Apache herd or not? Almost all metadata.xml for net-www/mod_* contain invalid metadata, BTW.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to assign a bug to Apache herd.

Actual Results:
Bad luck.

Expected Results:
To be able to assign a bug. Also, having correct docs would be nice. ;-)

There is no hard rule that <herd-name>@g.o must be the bugzie alias, and that is the case with Apache - bugs go to apache-bugs@g.o.
Comment 3 Elfyn McBratney (beu) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-15 21:04:08 UTC
Not a bug(tm).
Comment 4 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-15 21:12:24 UTC
Pardon my ignorance, but invalid metadata.xml is a bug(tm).

My main point was that apache-devs@gentoo.org alias does not exist. ;-) I just mentioned apache@g.o because this seems a logical next try if someone tries to assign a bug and encounters this inconsistency.

Anyway, the above-mentioned web page and relevant metadata.xml should be fixed. Reopening and assigning to apache-bugs@g.o. Sorry that this bug was assigned incorrectly to infra-bugs.
Comment 5 Elfyn McBratney (beu) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-15 21:25:12 UTC
apache-devs@g.o is the main point of contact for the Apache herd, which is why it's mentioned in herds.xml. If you want to reach the maintainers (us), you email that addy; if you want to assign bugs to us, you assign them to apache-bugs@g.o.

Having two bugzie aliases is superfluous, so no we're not going to have apache-devs@g.o as an additional bugzie alias either.

Finally, the metadata is not incorrect. Resolving INVALID.
Comment 6 Maurice van der Pot (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-03 09:58:28 UTC
So tell me, how do you expect anyone to assign bugs to the right address if
it is not documented anywhere?

And I understand you don't want 2 bugzilla aliases, but why not just change the
address of the existing one to apache-devs@g.o?
