Looking at the proposed patch in Bug 74880 (http://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=46700) this looked like a duplicate for me. Anyway, I am apologizing to you if I have been mistaken. Sorry.

Actually, Jakub, you were right. IMO, Bug 74880 is about the exact same problem, although Christian might be able to explain the differences he sees between these two bugs.
AFAICS, both bugs are about the fact that newer versions of php do not apply the hardened patch because of missing entries in php-sapi.eclass. And in both cases the fix is a trivial addition of the respective lines to that eclass.

Christian, could you clarify, please?

The php-sapi.eclass now has support for Hardened-PHP for PHP versions 4.3.9, 4.3.10, and 4.3.11.
