The two gtk-engines ebuilds that are currently in the tree (and I suppose a new one for 2.6.3 will be in soon too) are both missing the HOMEPAGE variable.

They inherit from the gtk-engines2 eclass which defines HOMEPAGE. Please check these things before filing bugs.

well, sorry. but 'emerge search gtk-engines' doesn't show HOMEPAGE for that ebuild.

The ebuilds _should_ inherit from gtk2-engines eclass, but since they also contain in them:
HOMEPAGE=""
it overrides the setting in gtk-engines2.
