Totem 1.1.1 (see http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86902#c3) depens on a package called "iso-codes" so there is a need for a ebuild for iso-codes. The only information I could find about iso-codes is here: http://packages.debian.org/unstable/source/iso-codes Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 56101 [details] iso-codes-0.46.ebuild I've got a working ebuild, even though it is very rough.

a missing dependency, add DEPEND=">=dev-python/pyxml-0.8.3-r1" to the ebuild
Yeah, that fixed it :)
Created attachment 56191 [details] iso-codes-0.46.ebuild Fixed ebuild. I'm not sure which category this should be under, maybe app-i18n.
totem 1.1.1 is a dev version, I have no intention of adding it at this point. So this is unneeded for now.
Doh, did not know that
I don't agree. It is true that now totem is officially in gnome so it will have a "development branch" and a "stable branch", but his development is very fast and be stuck with a "stable" release will mean to miss a lot of new and interesting features. Also, first of all totem is a media player, and actually every rc, beta and pre release of media players goes in portage.

I agree also, I think not being up to date on the latest version which is now 1.1.2 doesn't allow proper bug reports to bugs.gnome.org on problems with this version. For instance trying to add proprietary plugins (by clicking the button in preferences dialog) while in fluxbox screws up the desktop by removing the fluxbox slit and putting gnoome icons the desktop background. I would like to install 1.1.2 to see if it has been fixed there or if the bug should be reported to bugs.gnome.org.
well nm i guess gnome follows kernel versioning system so 1.1.* is all unstable
