xscreensaver 4.20 emerges correctly and works properly. All the hacks work as expected and I have not had any crashes, segfaults or instability. I'm running gnome (latest marked stable for AMD64, 2.8.?) and use the Screensaver control panel in the Advanced Desktop Preferences menu. It's all great. OpenGL hacks work perfectly and I'm using the NVIDIA drivers (7167-r1). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge xscreensaver (with ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~amd64"). 2. configure using the Screensaver control panel in gnome. 3. Use "preview" or wait for specified timeout to see hack engage. Actual Results: Hack displays fine. 3D hacks are perfect are rendered properly (this should probably be mentioned elsewhere too). Expected Results: It runs perfectly well. 4.20 should be marked stable.
I've been using this since it went in (it was ~amd64 on Feb 24), and it's been stable for me. I was unable to find any open bugs for this version, only 1.14. ok, i marked this one stable before maintaining arch because it fixes some bugs, normally we wait till the maintaining arch (mostly x86) marked it stable
