This seems more like a portage error than a glibc error since it seems to compile just fine. I also had a few problems updating linux-headers to 2.6.8.1-r2 after updating gcc to 3.3.5.20050130-r1 but the package installed the second time so I don't know if it's related. I'll try re-emerging glibc tomorrow and see if it still doesn't want to install. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge -u glibc 2. 3. no, it's a sanity check that prevented a broken glibc from being emerged into your / be glad the emerge fails and that your system still boots ;) what if you try `env CFLAGS="-pipe" emerge glibc` ?
Nope, same error... well, almost. It now reads "6501 Segmentation fault" instead of "14869 Segmentation fault"
i am getting the same error. tried with or without distcc. also tried CFLAGS="-pipe" as mentioned above.
I had the same problem. I rebuild coreutils with the +acl flag (may (re)built acl and attr package) and now the emerge glibc work fine. It seems that the bootstarp default is +acl and that after the bootstarp this default is not signal. Hope it's help
can you try glibc-2.3.5
glibc-2.3.5-r1 emerged fine here so I think the bug can be closed now. many thanks.
See previous comment, user fixed.
