Description Martin Spencer-Ford 2005-04-10 17:21:45 UTC
Everything emerges fine, and apears to be ok until i attempt to burn a DVD-R

At this point, i get invalid media errors, as described in the 01_all_samsung-media-fix.patch

This patch appears to be broken with TSST-H542A firmware versions TS06 and TS07

Media Brands deffinately effected are : BulkPaq Generation 4 4x orange Label and DataWrite Grey Label 8x DVD-R

Please refer to http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=2293235#2293235 to see the efforts we have have gone to to try and find the problem

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge dvd+rw-tools
2.use growisofs -Z /dev/hd?=iso.image with a Samsung TSST-H542A TS06 or TS07
3.

Actual Results:
tpwuk root # growisofs -Z /dev/hdc=/home/martin/track-01.iso
Executing 'builtin_dd if=/home/martin/track-01.iso of=/dev/hdc obs=32k seek=0'
:-[ PERFORM OPC failed with SK=5h/ASC=30h/ACQ=02h]: Wrong medium type

Expected Results:
Started to burn a DVD-R iso image to a DVD5 compliant media

I know it's a rather old bug. But I still can't understand what you need.
Another patch? Or is the patch causing the error?
