Description N Addy 2005-04-08 22:10:56 UTC
Upgrading webmin to 1.190 freezes on the install step.

[~]# USE="-apache2 postgres ssl -webmin-minimal" emerge -vu webmin
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) app-admin/webmin-1.190 to /

>>> Source unpacked.
>>> Test phase [not enabled]: app-admin/webmin-1.190

>>> Install webmin-1.190 into /var/tmp/portage/webmin-1.190/image/ category app-admin

At this point the CPU and disk go to 0% and the install sits there forever.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.  emerge -u webmin
2.
3.

Expected Results:
Should install

Comment 1 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-08 23:58:24 UTC
find typo. Fixed in cvs. Thanks for the bug report.
Comment 2 Joakim 2005-04-10 08:37:35 UTC
Hmmm strange... before the typo was corrected the ebuild freezed but now after '#emerge sync' (twice) it doesn't show up at all! The ebuild is there, and has "~x86" and I have my "~x86" keyword set in make.conf, just plain strange... I case I have missed something find my emerge info below:

Comment 3 N Addy 2005-04-10 08:56:10 UTC
Its been temporarily masked in portage pending release from cvs. Not sure what's holding that up. I guess its still in testing (?).
Comment 4 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-10 11:32:40 UTC
No, it's in p.m because mr_bones_'s fix didn't correct the problem, and it doesn't always happen...
Comment 5 Michael Postmann 2005-04-14 11:13:24 UTC
same stuff here.

but webmin 1.2 is out!

Time for a new ebuild!
Comment 6 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-14 17:54:59 UTC
Odd that this never happened before, but it seems to be because the 'atboot' envvar wasn't being exported. It's fixed in 1.200 which will be in portage shortly.
