when i do glxgears, or anything requiring opengl for that matter, my screen goes black then slowly appears back to my background and is unuseable, i checked X's log, no error initalizes the driver for savage fine but..i find this error in dmesg after i revert to real console after my X screen is unuseable [drm] Initialized savage 2.4.1 20050313 on minor 0: S3 Inc. this is if anything a bug in the savage driver, and not in gentoo's packaging of it. please file it upstream with them (bugs.freedesktop.org, product Mesa, component Drivers/DRI/Savage) so we can track it there.
