From the cantus website ( http://software.manicsadness.com/cantus ): "Cantus is a very complete program to rename and tag mp3 files. ... Below I'm just gonna list some of the Cantus features: - define filters for renaming, which you can proceed on a list of files - mass tagging of mp3s - dynamically tagging is implemented, that means, you can generate a tag out of the filename and/or directory name - a very nice GUI :) - renaming of files through FreeDB (no CD needed!) - a lot more" note: cantus also supports ogg files :) --Justin ( Boogaloo on freenode )

The homepage doesn't really work . And what i get from the src_uri, it is on a new minor version.
Well, it looks like development of cantus has stopped. From Freshmeat: "Development ate up too much of my time so this project is now dead. Everyone interested in taking over Cantus is welcome. Find the sources are at http://savannah.gnu.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs/cantus/" So much for my first ebuild submission, I guess... Oh well --Justin
Not much use putting a dead package in, right ?
Exactly. I'll keep an eye out for anyone deciding to revive this project. If that happens, I'll just submit a new ebuild for it. Until then, I see no sense putting it in portage. Take care, Justin
