Description Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-07 15:01:18 UTC
I dont understand that this lib went stable. Providing the old so.4 doesn't help at all. Running revdep-rebuild ... and deleting the old lib afterwards doesn't work, because it will result in the following problem:

[ebuild UD] media-libs/flac-1.1.0-r2 [1.1.1] -debug +sse -xmms 0 kB
[ebuild R ] media-plugins/gst-plugins-flac-0.8.7 0 kB

I'm pretty sure kdemultimedia-3.3 doesn't work with flac-1.1.1, as well.

Also the approach to provide the old lib isn't sane. It _should_ break instead having this mess. If you want both libs, SLOT the ebuilds please.
