THE PACKAGE INSTALLED CORRECTLY ACCORDING TO PORTAGE BUT CONTAINS NO FILES!

I re-emerged ec-fonts-mftraced-1.0.8 recently, and despite some errors in the
emerge it succeeded in installing quite a few fontfiles.

This problem has been fixed for a long time now.  Please re-open if it's still a problem for you.
