That's right, Konqueror has support for sftp protocol via KIO slaves. Instead Firefox doesn't support it, as it doesn't use KIO (it's not a KDE app), and it doesn't need to support it (it's just a webbrowser, not a file manager).

Oh, than I set this bug report to cantfix.
