Rather than having to remember to load an SFX to make use of the MIDI synthesiser in cards like the EMU10K1. It would be convenient if there were an init script that could do this at boot (like other OS's) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Boot computer 2.Play MIDI file through on card synthesiser Actual Results: No sound, because sound bank contains no sound fonts. Expected Results: Used an init script to load a set of sound fonts
Created attachment 55462 [details] sfxload init.d script My first go at an init script that will do the SFX loading, that could be included with the media-sound/awesfx ebuild
Created attachment 55463 [details] conf.d file for the init script /etc/conf.d/sfxload file to go with the sfxload init.d script
please always name the ebuild you're referring to in the summary
Sorry it took so long, but I can't really test these on my system. Feedback is welcome, tried to keep them simple as possible. *awesfx-0.5.1c-r1 (30 May 2009) 30 May 2009; Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> +awesfx-0.5.1c-r1.ebuild, +files/sfxload.confd, +files/sfxload.initd: Experimental sfxload init.d and conf.d files wrt #88159.
