Currently in portage exists two tomcat ebuilds: tomcat-5.0.27-r4 and tomcat-5.0.28-r2.

tomcat-5.0.27-r4 requires to download only tomcat binary.

tomcat-5.0.28-r2 uses new directory structure and requires bunch on libraries to build tomcat from source.

I see no sense for me to download all these libraries in order to just install tomcat.

Can you separate tomcat ebuilds on tomcat and tomcat-bin?

The old bin versions will be purged out of the tree at some point.

right, i also dont see a chance the we will keep the bin versions in the tree.
