Description Alexander Holler 2002-10-06 11:50:46 UTC
Hi, I'm having some problems writing an ebuild which install some
perl-modules.

The ebuild works fine, when makemaker has not been installed. When MakeMaker
has been installed, it doesn't work. After Makemake was once installed the
ebuild allways fails. Removing MakeMaker doesn't help.

send an e-mail to gentoo-dev@gentoo.org (sign up for the list first)

you might also want to check out other perl ebuilds to see how they do it ...

Got suggestions, none of them working:

irssi broken, postgresql broken, and finally here a message posted from me 3
month before with any response:

Subject: [gentoo-dev] Need help installing perl modules from within an ebuild

Hi,

I've almost finished an ebuild (really 5) for cyrus-imapd. But I need some
help how to install perl-modules from within an ebuild. Specially who to
register those modules (I haven't any experience with that other than
calling perl -MCPAN -e shell). A search through the docs and the ml-archive
hasn't revealed anything.

Regards,

Alexander
