In the last section of the Filesystem Info chapter, the user is advice to add the usbfs line if the user need usbfs. With the new baselayout (1.9.4-r6), this line is not necessary and in fact will cause an error while mounting the filesystem. The version of baselayout I am using is 1.9.4-r6 but I don't know how far this change goes back.
