We've had newer sandboxes (>= 3.0) masked and eventually dropped from the repo for a year now.

    sys-apps/sandbox: Remove permanently broken sandbox 3.0+

    The unreviewed changes in sandbox 3.0 has broken a number of packages,
    and the versions have been masked since November 2021.  It seems
    that the author is not interested in fixing them, so remove them.

    profiles: mask newer sandbox versions w/ ptrace issues

    Masking for now to avoid duplicate reports of known issues;
    hangs when emerging e.g. Firefox and seemingly anything Go
    based are nasty.

    One of the bugs (821403) should be OK now but tagging
    anyway for reference.

I _think_ master is still broken as none of it looks like it addresses the bugs which led to the mask.

ptrace-3.x now represents the old 'master'.
