Description Robert Persson 2005-04-03 20:49:21 UTC
Please could you put some outdated wine versions in portage. Hard-masked would be OK. This is because, at the moment, new versions of wine break compatibility with windows applications at least as often as they acquire it. There are also Linux applications that are built to work with certain versions of wine.

First of all, the wine versions from the middle of 2004 are supposed to be generally more usable than more recent versions, which are highly experimental.

Secondly, wine-20031118 is the only version of wine known to work reliably with vstserver, a very useful musician's tool.

Thanks.
