When I try to access my private records in JPilot, I cannot, unless I remove the password on my Palm PDA itself. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to "View/Show-Hide-Mask Private Records". 2. Enter the correct password. Actual Results: A "password incorrect" dialog appears. Expected Results: The private records should have been shown. > sudo emerge info Portage 2.0.51.19 (default-linux/amd64/2004.3, gcc-3.4.3, glibc-2.3.4.20041102- r1, 2.6.11-gentoo-r4 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.11-gentoo-r4 x86_64 AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 250 Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Python: dev-lang/python-2.3.4-r1 [2.3.4 (#1, Feb 7 2005, 13:05:46 )] distcc 2.18.3 x86_64-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [enabled] ccache version 2.3 [enabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.4-r1 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.5, 1.8.5-r3, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.4_p6, 1.9.4 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.10-r4 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.8.1-r4 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=opteron -O0 -pipe" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/ config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=opteron -O0 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distcc distlocks sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.mirror.sdv.fr http://ftp.easynet.nl/mirror/gentoo/ http://www.gigaload.org/gentoo.org/ http://distfiles.gentoo.org http://www. ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/dev/shm/portage/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X aalib acpi alsa amd64 bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts bzlib cdr crypt cups curl dvd dvdread exif fam flac font-server foomaticdb gdbm gif gpm gtk gtk2 imagemagick imlib ipv6 jp2 jpeg libwww lm_sensors lzw lzw-tiff mad motif mp3 ncurses network nls nptl nptlonly oggvorbis opengl pam pda perl png ppds python qt qtmt readline rtc sdk spell ssl sysfs tcpd tetex threads tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts usb userlocales xfce4 xml xml2 xmms xpm xrandr xv zlib" Unset: ASFLAGS, CBUILD, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS
can you try the new version of jpilot-0.99.8_pre9? thanks.
Unfortunately not. I successfully emerged 0.99.8_pre9 and it has the same bug.
Please test with 0.99.9 and let us know if it works now. Re-open this bug if it doesn't.
(In reply to comment #3) > Please test with 0.99.9 and let us know if it works now. Re-open this bug if it > doesn't. > I tried trhis version and unfortunately it appears to have the same bug. Very irritating.
I've done some research now and this looks like http://bugs.jpilot.org/1856 (which is actually a bug in pilot-link). You now have two options: 1. I'm going to attach a patch for pilot-link-0.12.3 (should apply to 0.12.2, too) now. Apply it to pilot-link (add an appropriate epatch to the ebuild) and test jpilot again. 2. Wait till I get around to add the patch to pilot-link-0.12.3 (might take a week or so due to my annual aging ;) immediately followed by Christmas) and test again.
Created attachment 138931 [details] pilot-link-0.12.3-int_types.patch The promised patch for pilot-link.
I've just committed the patch which should indeed fix this bug. Please simply re-emerge both pilot-link-0.12.3 and jpilot, test again and let me know about the result.
The fix was kindly confirmed to work by Jeff Silver.
