smpeg-0.4.4-r5 fails on compile because it relies on an unstable version of sdl. still invalid, you didnt run revdep-rebuild like you were supposed to
Created attachment 55163 [details] The output from revdep-rebuild
If there is anything else that I am supposed to do please give me a list so that this doesn't have to be done one thing at a time... There seems to be a lot of links broken. Is this normal?
you could grep /var/db/pkg and find out what is explititly requiring smpeg-0.4.4-r4, and then change it to -r5
This is the only line I could find and it doesn't seem to be the problem... /var/db/pkg/media-libs/sdl-mixer-1.2.5-r1/DEPEND:>=media-libs/smpeg-0.4.4-r1
regardless, file a bug for the portage team since the original bug here is INVALID
I'm trying to reassign this bug to portage, hope it works...
file a new bug, this bug has too much crap in it
Screw that, I've wasted enough time on this already. I really though Gentoo appreciated people that take the time to test and file bug reports. I don't even know what the lib does... My solution emerge -C smpeg.
