All sanity-check issues have been resolved
(I am a sometimes maintainer of dev-lang/R in addition to now having access to R-V hardware) Upstream has WONTFIX'd this, so I think that has to be our answer as well. I did leave a comment on the upstream bug mentioning that R-V hardware is not going to be niche for long. Maybe they will come around.
