It seems fairly easy to configure qmail-pop3d to run over SSL. Instructions can be found at http://www.stunnel.org/examples/qmail-pop3d.html. Will you consider adding this to the ebuild?

if you have qmail with USE=ssl, and configure your SSL certs, you already get POP3-TLS support (argubly more useful than POP3S).

If you still want to pursue regular SSL however, attach a single patch that adds all of the required files, but using tcpserver's SSL support instead of stunnel, as reduces the set of dependancies.
