i dont understand

`emerge <pkg> -pv` works just fine for showing where a package is being emerged from

Doh.  I'm pretty sure some old versions did it without --verbose, but yes it works *with* it.  My bad =/

user error; possible slight change in new version's behavior, but regardless it works fine.
