Could kdesu be patched with Ubuntu's patches? Ubuntu uses sudo instead of su. Usually we don't include and maintain patches for kde that were not already accepted by kde developers. The patch seems quite generic though, you should submit it to http://bugs.kde.org for discussion.
KDE devs won't accept it. Perhaps this should be a USE flag?
