Some of the fonts, eg the URW Palladio Italic font, in this package are broken. the URW-Fonts package has the same, but newer versions that are not broken. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. When loading these fonts into Scribus, we scan for return results from freetype. the URW Palladio Italic is rejected on startup and the URW-Fonts version is used. a) We should not depend on these fonts from Ghostscript AFPL b) Certain fonts in the std and optional package are broken
ghostscript needs those fonts, so we need to depend on them, please fill a bug upstream against gnu-gs-fonts
http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=688130 is the upstream bug for your reference. Hopefully it gets fixed and Gentoo's package can be updated too.
