UT CD does not boot on a Dell inspiron 2650 - gets to IDE device probing and
hangs, maybe the dell bious support not included in the kernel?

Well, all I can say is that the new isos (in testing) boot just find on a Dell
Latitude C610.

Closing this bug due to chadh's success story. New isos are at 
http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/experimental/livecd/. Latest version is 
the "2002122100" one. Thanks for the bug report :)
