I upgraded linux-headers-2.6.8.1-r2 to version 2.6.8.1-r4 and issued "emerged glibc" after the linux-headers compile finished. However the compilation never finished, a closer look at dmesg reveled the kernel Oops. can't attach the file afterall, it turns out after a reboot, the file where I echoed the dmsg output turned 0byte. empty.
Can you please try the linux-headers-2.6.8.1-r2 version?
Going to need to see the oops to investigate this. After saving dmesg to a file, run "sync" before rebooting - that might help.
Im using another kernel now, and 2005.0 profile and upgraded a bunch of packages. unfortually it seems that the time when a bug is reported to the time where a dev gives some feedback is increasing overall. I think it might create a false percentage in the 'bug solved' reports. looks like the project is in need of more(alot more) people(devs) :> Anyways, ive marked it closed, because I dont feel like downgrading packages to test something that was broken can't se when. lets move along, nothing to see here.
