Description John Newman 2005-03-27 19:43:23 UTC
when I type emerge mozilla-firefox this is what happens:

checking for gmodule-2.0 >= 2.0.1 gobject-2.0 >= 2.0.1 ORBit-2.0 >= 2.4.0... Package ORBit-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `ORBit-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'ORBit-2.0' found

configure: error: Library requirements (gmodule-2.0 >= 2.0.1 gobject-2.0 >= 2.0.1 ORBit-2.0 >= 2.4.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

notice the ORBit-2.0 .... maybe the capital ORB instead of orbit is causing the problem? probably not

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. turn on computer
2. log in
3. type emerge mozilla-firefox

Actual Results:
2.0.1 ORBit-2.0 >= 2.4.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH
environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config
can find them.

Expected Results:
all happy

i've got a clean install with nothing except xorg and xfce, 2.6.11 kernel on a
pentium M if it matters.

thanks!

ok nevermind it was an incredibly easy fix and possibly my fault.

all i had to do to fix it was type
emerge unmerge orbit
emerge orbit
emerge mozilla-firefox

and it's now compiling so it got past where it was getting tripped up before.
