Tested qt with patch http://fontconfig.org/qt/qt3.02-09-02.diff It's to use libXft2 instead of libXft....Tested with gcc 3.2 and it compiles fine (compiling KDE 3.1Beta with it as of right now ;-).... Regards, Rigo

Well, we don't have an xft2-enabled xfree yet, or do we? Anyway, this support's been merged into the qt-3.1 tree. I could make an ebuild for the latest beta, or rather for a qt-copy snapshot, if people were interested. By the time our freeze is over and we make an xft2-enabled unmasked xfree, qt-3.1.0 will be released anyway.
fontconfig delivers all of these (Xrender, modified libXft1, libXft2 and fontconfig) --> See Bug #7993 Using the patches provided by fontconfig.org for qt, gtk and mozilla (all tested, and running for a week now) gives me: - All my TTF-fonts in apps like Konsole :-D ! - GTK+ / Mozilla / Konqueror Completely AA (Including gtk2-widgets !) I've been reading about it, and this is the way they do it in RH 8.0...I like it, but it works for me if y'all consider this TOO beta just now (with the freeze & all) Regards & keep up the good work Dan (LOVE beta2 ;-D) !!! Yes, we'll get on things like fontconfig/xft2 too after the freeze. Don't worry, we'll catch up to rh/mdk et al :-)
