I'm going to go ahead and say the -bin is not going to work if you have a hook which removes x86 ELFs.

 /var/tmp/portage/dev-java/openjdk-bin-11.0.15_p10/work/jdk-11.0.15+10/lib/jexec seems to be an x86 ELF!
removed '/var/tmp/portage/dev-java/openjdk-bin-11.0.15_p10/work/jdk-11.0.15+10/lib/jexec'
'/var/tmp/portage/dev-java/openjdk-bin-11.0.15_p10/work/jdk-11.0.15+10/lib/jexec' -> '/dev/null/INVALID'

If you're going to use such a thing, which is your choice, please state it up front.
