Hello, Per the council meeting on 2022-08-14 [0], the multilib eclass approach in gentoo.git is the official de facto and de jure solution to the "multilib problem". As such, the multilib branch should be moved away from the official portage.git repository. Please move the portage-multilib branch away to another location. The plan is to remove the multilib branch in 2 weeks. [0] https://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-project/message/77286085094c5f747b6fff164717e000
Removal would make it harder to check history later. If any action is necessary, I would suggest to lock branch for commits instead of removing branch. https://github.com/gentoo/portage/branches has distinction between "Active branches" and "Stale branches". https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/portage.git could also gain such distinction. (Inactive branches could be shown e.g. on separate page.)
You only linked the planned agenda for the council meeting. Before any actions are taken, could you first of all link the actual decision from the council meeting (metting summary and full log)?
