Description Graeme Humphries 2005-03-23 12:37:40 UTC
I'm using an AMD64-compiled version of Firefox, and blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.01 doesn't work properly. I've double checked the plugin symlinks, and they're correct. When I go to any site with a java applet, it sits there with a grey box for a minute or so, and then it just puts the little java coffee-cup icon in the grey box and never runs anything.

Firefox's "about:plugins" shows the following info for the plugin:

Java(TM) Plug-in Blackdown-1.4.2-01

    File name: libjavaplugin_oji.so
    Blackdown Java-Linux Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.2

Comment 1 Jan Brinkmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-23 16:23:56 UTC
which firefox version do you use, the binary one?
Comment 2 Graeme Humphries 2005-03-23 20:32:35 UTC
No, it's the regular source ebuild, compiled using the stuff shown in my emerge info.
Comment 3 Jan Brinkmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-24 10:19:33 UTC
works fine here, which version of mozilla-firefox is it? (i.e. 1.0.1 etc)
Comment 4 Graeme Humphries 2005-03-24 10:59:32 UTC
I'm running 1.0.1 at the moment, and I'm currently building 1.0.2 since it's now marked as stable. We'll see if it makes a difference.
Comment 5 Graeme Humphries 2005-03-24 14:01:48 UTC
Well, using my newly built firefox-1.0.2, it works fine. Something must've broken weirdly in my 1.0.1 build, but I guess it's fine now. I'm marking as WFM, if anyone else gets this again we can reopen it.
