Okay, but it's not keyworded for ia64, and I don't have the skills to fix it. Please take this issue upstream. Sorry if that means you can't keyword scipy.

Or is that only valid for stablereqs?
I gather Gentoo is the last bastion for ia64, so I'm not too confident it will get fixed if someone here doesn't take it up. I didn't think scipy was that important, but if it matters to you, I suppose you can leave this open.

No, I don't have a use for scipy on ia64, this was solely because it's included in bug 862330, if you don't want it could you drop the CC from that bug? Then we can leave this one closed for posterity on why it's not. Debian still has official support for it under the ports project. They have at least an attempted build/test cycle on it for all packages. For patchelf specifically, you can see that their build history shows it started failing tests after 0.11: https://buildd.debian.org/status/logs.php?pkg=patchelf&arch=ia64
Reopening to block automated testing attempts for scipy but until it's fixed upstream. They're actively working on it and there's only 1 test failure left.
Test failures are gone as of 0.17.2 at least.
