Description Aidan 2002-10-02 01:40:53 UTC
Athlon-XP, 40Gb HD, K7S6A, NVidea GeForce and a D-Link
DFE-530TX NIC.

I booted from the live CD, ran pci-setup and configured the NIC.
The NIC wouldn't cooperate though, the box was unpingable
inbound and outbound.

I did a cat of /proc/pci. The NIC was identified as a
Bus 0 Dev 12
VIA TECH VT6102 rev 76
IRQ 11
I/0 0xe000
Mem 0xe1010000

ASAF, the ethernet card should have been using 8139too driver. I cannot locate
this driver on the live CD.

Please give the latest "2002122100" livecd a shot at
http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/experimental/livecd/ and post results (good/bad) here.
If you still have the problem, I'll need to know what modules loaded (if any),
and what module should have loaded but didn't.

Closing due to lack of user comments.

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
