Version bump, just took the 2.0.40-r1 copied everything and tadaa.. it just works fine (for me).
Created attachment 4337 [details] apache-2.0.42.ebuild (renamed copy of apache-2.0.40-r1.ebuild)
Created attachment 4338 [details] files-2.0.42.tar.bz2 (untar into files directory, 1:1 copy of existing 2.0.40 directory)
Just rename the ebuild and files directory to 2.0.43. That should work for the newest version. The version 2.0.42 in the portage tree is broken since the directory 2.0.43 in the files/ dir does not exist.
RedHat does support it. SuSE does support it. And Gentoo has *masked only* package for it. Apache2 isn't beta since a long time, and I see no reason for doing a real apache upgrad in Gentoo. I mean, things like /etc/apache and not /etc/apache2, I mean, php and perl ebuilds to recognize the use of either 2.0 or 1.3. Hey, what's the problem? Why is nobody believing in it?
