svgalib installs man pages for the demos/* and threeDKit/* stuff, but does not install the executables. From the 2 options : [1] remove man pages, or [2] compile & install demos too I'd go for the [2] as there are some realy useful stuff there, like vgatest, svidtune, etc. Another option is to add svgalib-demos ebuild. I notice that a number of demos are installed SUID root by svgalib's make files. Given that these are just demo programs, do you suppose it will be safe to *not* install them SUID root? I really don't like SUID root demo programs. ;^)
Actually, one more question: what's the use of installing the demos without installing the source code for the demos? Or do you propose we install the source code as well? I'm sorta leaning towards option 1 from your list. ;^)
As I said, there are some demos, that are useful by themselves, as utilities. [vgatest, svidtune]
Should be fixed in svgalib-1.4.3-r2. Please test.
