If gimp-print-5.0.0_beta3 is installed printing with CUPS results in an error. All jobs get cancelled. I can confirm this. I was using gimp-print-ijs.xml for my Epson CX3200 on gimp-print-4.2.7. After upgrading to gimp-print-5-beta3, gimp-print-ijs.xml does not exist anymore, after grepping <grep Epson-Stylus_CX3200 /usr/share/foomatic/db/source/driver/*> there is a new driver for CX3200 gutenprint-ijs.xml. This driver does not work. All my print jobs are aborted as reported by CUPS. Reverting back to 4.2.7 solved the problem. The /usr/share/cups/model/gimp-print directory is completely missing! beta3 is either really different, or really broken, but certainly, it doesn't play well with cups.
For me and my Epson Stylus Photo 870 it was the same. Downgrading to gimp-print-4.2.7 did the job.
