major bug fixes since 2.0.0 (currently stable).

please test on: x86 sparc ppc amd64 ppc64

once we get up to speed on fwbuilder/libfwbuilder stable, then it will be nice to clean out all the old ebuilds users are submitting bugs on.

Stable on x86. Thanks all. I'm not a new mantainer, the older versions are not reliable. In CVS.
