Created attachment 53665 [details] Russian Translation for SPARC Handbook
Created attachment 53827 [details] text/plain version of the above file Igor, I realise you mean well by these translations -- and we appreciate your work. However, your efforts are undone by the fact that very few of us are able to read Word documents correctly. The system here uses XML as its means of storing files -- these are essentially plaintext. The XML parsers in use do not understand WORD documents. Word documents are a binary format -- much harder to read than a plaintext document. (Notice that OpenOffice often doesn't read it 100% correct -- and on rare occasions, Word can't even read it) For this reason, it is not possible for us to accept files in Word format. The following might be of interest: http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/no-word-attachments.html (Unfortunately, they don't appear to have a Russian translation) Attached is a plaintext version of the file -- as converted by OpenOffice 2.0 BETA. xmllint was able to verify that it's well formed -- however, I'd appreciate it if someone could confirm that the content made it unscathed. Regards, Stuart Longland
Igor! So you and me did the same - could you please check bug #91162 and suggest how can we merge our translations? :-) I made my translation a template for other architectures... and bug #91162 possibly supercedes this one! Sorry... (see www.shadanakar.org/~cay for explanation) If you agree - shan't you close this bug, please?
handbook-* translations has been merged into one consistent variant; all the pretty translation from here is now there: bug #91162. This bug definitely may be closed freely!
Moved to another bug, closing...
